Synchronicity + Law of Attraction = Meant To Be
There is a mystery to how certain things unfold in our lives that make it magical. I would like to share one of these personal experiences.
First, a couple definitions: Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are causally unrelated or unlikely to occur together by chance, yet are experienced as occurring together in a meaningful manner. Also, the definition of beshert: “Inevitable” or “preordained” and can apply to any happening which appears to bear the fingerprints of divine providence. Beshert is a Yiddish word that often relates to “meeting your beshert,” your life partner; future husband or wife.
In recent years making a Vision Board has been popular. I modified this idea and created a Dream Book. My Dream Book was a 3-ring binder, beautifully decorated outside, and inside, neatly organized photos, magazine images, words, and ideas for various aspects of my life. My Dream Book was compact and I could easily look take it from room to room, look at it outside while sitting and meditating on the patio, and take it with me in the car if I was going away for the weekend.
After the first initial months of creating this Dream Book, I was very pleased with the contents and had committed to memory most of the ideas and images. I added a few more images, removed a few, and was fairly certain that this was a good “direction” in my life. In time, I looked at it less and less. I trusted that the law of attraction would do its work.
In time, I became busy with my internet business, attended conferences and met many new people. I packed up my home and my Dream Book was put away in a pretty carrying case not to be looked at as I was travelling the world.
When I was finally ready to settle down again all the things put in storage came out and found their natural places in our home. My pretty carrying case was placed beside my desk but not opened.
One afternoon I was sitting with my partner and I mentioned my Dream Book. He asked to see it. I pulled it out and we leafed through the pages, made comments and laughed together. Almost towards the end of the book, I flipped a page. Most of the magazine pages, if kept in full pages, were in plastic sleeves to maintain the newness. One particular page, I had taken from Town and Country magazine. There was a style of dress I liked that was elegant and timeless. But, it was the back of the page that got our attention.
Staring up at us was my partner’s face. His photo was in a magazine article on the back of the page with the dress. At the time the photo was taken, he lived in a different city and we did not even know each other. I only met him a few years later.
I am still amazed at how this works when things are meant to be. There are clues along the way if we look and pay attention. How people and situations are brought together in a meaningful manner is part of the divine plan. These are the moments that cause us to be in awe and feel gratitude, love and appreciation.
